Nancy
was born on May 16th 1983 in Ashrafieh,
Lebanon. Since her childhood, Nancy loved
singing. In 1995, at age 12, she
participated in "Nojoum Al-Mustaqbal"
(Stars of the future), a specialized
television show for young talents. She won
the gold medal in the "Traditional
Lebanese" category.
Nancy released her first album at age 13. Mi7tagalak
(1997) had 8 tracks and was the beginning
of a very successful career. The clip for
Mi7tagalak ranked number 1 for three
consecutive weeks upon its release.
In
1999 she released her second album, Sheel
3younak 3anni with the help and
guidance of her father as manager.
Achieving success was however a long and
tedious task.
Few
years later, Nancy met Jiji Lamara who
quickly became her new manager. Their
collaboration resulted in the release of
the highly acclaimed third album: Ya
Salam. Akhasmak Ah, the first
single to be released was a huge success.
The video clip, directed by Nadine Labaki,
gave Nancy a totally new image and look.
Two additional mega hits, Ya Salam
and Yay were also made into video
clips.
